This is a different way to eat fruit but we think anyone who loves chilli will enjoy the contrasting cool/hot flavours and textures. This way of eating Kiwano really opens people up to the savoury possibilities of this exotic fruit.
What to do:
Slice Kiwano in half lengthways. Hold the Kiwano and using a teaspoon “muddle” the pulp so that it comes away from the skin and pith.
Place the Kiwano on a board and squeeze over the juice of ½ a lime. Sprinkle over several generous drops of tabasco. To finish, grind sea salt on top.
Eat with a spoon!
